For my website design I began by researching other artist’s websites and portfolio pages. I looked at the layout as well as use of colors and design aspects. My immediate approach was choosing the artwork I wanted to display on my home page. Some of my favorite works consists of close up drawings of body parts and facial features. Once I brought them into Photoshop I chose a monotone color for each piece making sure you could still tell that they were done simply in pencil. I then brought in chunky black shapes to weigh down the background and placed an image behind that. The image I chose is a picture I took of my friend’s band. Although this has nothing to do with my artwork I used it because it’s cropped to show body parts in motion. I also made this image monotone to match the rest. For my portfolio page I used the same layout and color palette. This page features more of my work as icons that you can scroll through.
