The poster I made is for Devon Hudson, after interviewing Devon I knew this would be interesting. I asked Devon a lot of things that I think define a person, what colors you like? are more plaid or paisley, do you like sushi or steak, democrat republican etc. Through this process I learned a lot about this new stranger.  

Devon is a very clean and simple guy, whom cares a lot about his family but also about his fashion. I could tell he wasn’t some one who just rolled out of bed and threw on what looked clean, Devon is much more stylish. But, stylish in a good way, for instance he cares about whether colors match and things go, but not necessarily if its high fashion brands or vintage. It seems like Devon has all his blocks in a row and that he has definite goals and plans for his life. Devon also seems like a very giving person. In our interview he talked about sharing his talents and teaching others rather than just working for money.

So now it was time to start designing. I knew that I wanted to keep the design simple and clean. I learned that he’s a very positive and clean person so I tried to bring that to my design. I used the blocks to represent interests in Devon’s life. Separate all of these things mean something to him, But all together its what makes up Devon as a person.

Technically I did have some issues, Photoshop and I didn’t bond so much I couldn’t manipulate the pictures like I wanted to so I ended up drawing most of my own in Illustrator. So I think the overall image is a little flat and more 2D than 3D. I think because I’m coming straight out of an Illustrator class I’m feeling more comfortable with that, but I’m sure my Photoshop skills will pick up with more use.
